Getting there and the practical bits

Eastbourne is well stocked with the practical stuff. The main resort beach has lifeguards, first aid, showers, refreshment points, toilets and beach shops. Holywell adds disabled toilets, a shower, café and picnic-friendly setting, while the wider seafront has offices, deckchair hire and good access along the promenade.

Check the walking distance, steps and parking arrangements for your chosen hut. Facilities can have seasonal opening hours.

Bringing your dog

Eastbourne is mixed in summer. From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are not allowed on the main resort beach between the Wish Tower and the Pier. On the rest of the seafront from Holywell to Harbour Reach, dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead, with some extra detail around the western and middle parades. So there are high-season options, but the main central bathing area is off limits.

Permission to bring a dog into the hut is separate from access to the beach. Ask the hut provider before booking.

Follow local lifeguard advice and beach safety signs. Tide predictions do not tell you whether it is safe to swim.
