Compiled by the Hut & Tide team · How we check our guides

Local guidance checked . Recheck the linked source and local signs before travelling. Town links include general listings; confirm the individual hut’s suitability.

A little planning. A better beach day.

Check the hut

Ask how many dogs are welcome, whether there are any charges and where dogs can settle. A photograph of a dog or a nearby dog beach is not a pet policy.

Check your stretch of sand

Look at the council’s map for your dates. A year-round dog area may sit beside a beach with summer restrictions; keep an eye on the signs when you arrive.

Pack for the whole day

Bring fresh water, a bowl, shade, a lead, towels and waste bags. Plan breaks and somewhere cool to rest, especially on warmer days.

Ask us a question
Does a dog-friendly beach mean dogs can use the hut?

No. The beach rules and the hut owner’s pet policy are separate. Our dogs-welcome hut results require an explicitly recorded facility; ask the owner about numbers, charges and any restrictions before booking.

Can I take my dog to the beach in summer?

It depends on the beach and the section you use. Some have year-round dog areas, some have seasonal exclusions and others require leads at particular times. Use the linked council guidance for your dates and follow local signs.

Are the listed huts available for my dates?

A listing alone does not confirm availability. Use the search with your dates and check the individual hut. An external council or provider confirms its own availability, prices and pet rules.

What if I travel with an assistance dog?

Pet policies and assistance-dog arrangements are different. Ask the provider about the access arrangements you need and consult the council’s assistance-dog guidance. Our pet-friendly filter is not a list of every hut suitable for an assistance-dog user.

Have a hut to share?

Help guests choose well. Describe the setting, who your hut suits, its pet rules, access and facilities to your listing.
