Hut & Tide grew from our life on the Dorset coast. We wanted to make it easier to find a beach hut, help owners share their spare days and bring the practical parts of a day out together. Darren’s background in travel technology helps us turn that idea into useful tools. Read our story.

How we check information

We use council, operator and established local visitor information for facts such as hut locations, access arrangements and beach rules. Where we show a checked date, it refers to the named sections and sources. It does not imply that we have personally visited every beach or inspected every hut.

Separate facts that matter

• A dog-friendly beach does not establish permission to bring a dog into a hut.
• A promenade or accessible toilet does not establish step-free access all the way to a particular hut.
• A guide price is not a dated quote. An external provider confirms its own prices and availability.
• A location photograph illustrates the place. Hut photographs and recorded facilities belong to the individual listing.

What can change

Seasonal restrictions, facilities, prices and opening hours can change after a guide is checked. Follow the linked source, signs on the beach and instructions from your booking provider. Tide predictions and forecasts do not guarantee safe swimming conditions.

Reviews from real bookings

Our verified guest reviews are linked to completed Hut & Tide bookings. We check for private information, abuse and irrelevant content before publication. A critical review is not rejected because it is negative. Owners can reply, but cannot edit a guest’s words or rating. External-provider bookings are not presented as verified Hut & Tide reviews.

Help us keep the coast covered

If you spot an error, tell us which page and detail need checking. A link to the council or operator’s current information helps us review it. We update the relevant facts and their source notes when the change can be confirmed.
