Your hut appears on a dedicated beach hut platform that renters search by location, date and facilities. No more relying on Facebook posts or word of mouth.
We collect a deposit when the renter books. The balance is taken when due. On the checkout date, the full amount minus 12% commission is transferred to your bank account. Available on the bookings plan.
Set pricing by season, offer day hire, weekly blocks or seasonal lets, add blackout dates, and define hire periods. It works the way beach hut hire actually works.
You know your council rules best. Set a maximum number of rental days per year and the platform blocks bookings once you reach it. Mark your hut as local residents only and renters are asked to confirm eligibility. Available on the bookings plan.
Renters message you through the platform. Automated check-in instructions, key collection details and directions are sent when a booking confirms.
Structured fields for what renters care about: electricity, water, cooking, wheelchair access, dog-friendly, steps to the beach, nearest parking and tide notes.
Getting started
From registration to your first booking or first click-through. The process is the same for both plans.
Create an owner account with your name and contact details. If you choose the bookings plan, add your bank information for payouts. Takes a few minutes.
Select whether you want Hut & Tide to handle bookings (12% commission, no monthly fee) or a link listing that sends renters to your own website (£5 per month).
Add photos, describe your hut using structured fields (facilities, access, parking, tide notes), select your council area and set your pricing or booking link.
We check your listing meets minimum quality standards and confirm you have the right to hire the hut. Then your hut goes live.
On the bookings plan, renters find and book your hut directly. On the link plan, renters click through to your website. Either way, your hut is in front of more people.
Compliance
It is your responsibility to know and follow your council's licence rules. But on the bookings plan, you can set limits in your listing and the platform will handle them for you.
If your council limits how many days you can rent out each year, set that number in your listing. The platform tracks your total and automatically blocks new bookings once you reach the limit.
If your council sets maximum charges by season, you can set those caps in your listing. The platform will prevent you from entering prices above the limits you set.
If your hut is restricted to local residents, mark it in your listing. Renters will be asked to confirm they are a local resident before they can book. We do not collect or verify proof of residency.
