Getting there and the practical bits

There is seafront parking and a choice of food outlets. Deckchairs and other beach equipment are available from separate outlets; do not assume they are included with a hut.

Check the walking distance, steps and parking arrangements for your chosen hut. Facilities can have seasonal opening hours.

Bringing your dog

The Isle of Wight has dog exclusions on designated bathing-beach areas from 1 May to 30 September. Winter access is wider, but nearby beaches and sections of the same bay can have different rules. Check the council’s map for your destination and the signs on arrival.

Permission to bring a dog into the hut is separate from access to the beach. Ask the hut provider before booking.

Weather, tides and water

Check the latest forecast and tide times shortly before you travel. A forecast available today may not cover your planned visit.

See current beach conditions

Follow local lifeguard advice and beach safety signs. Tide predictions do not tell you whether it is safe to swim.

A little more to your day

Leave time for a walk, a picnic or something nearby. Check opening hours, access and any separate booking requirements.

Parking in Sandown

A few places to consider before you set off. Check the route from the car park to your beach or hut.

These are source-checked records, not live space availability. Charges and restrictions can change: check the council information and signs when you arrive. A Blue Badge bay does not confirm step-free beach access.
