Check hut details and bookingThe big advantage here is how much is within a short walk. The huts are part of the main seafront, so you are close to the beach, the promenade, the Cobb, cafes, shops and town-centre facilities. Monmouth has a more stripped-back feel but gives direct access to the fossil beach and Undercliff side of town.
Check the walking distance, steps and parking arrangements for your chosen hut. Facilities can have seasonal opening hours.
Facilities and beach guideLyme Regis is mixed but manageable with a dog. Front Beach is closed to dogs from 1 May to 30 September, and in winter dogs must be on a short lead there. Monmouth Beach is dog friendly all year, and Church Cliff and East Cliff are also open all year. So summer dog access exists, but you need to head for the right beach rather than the main front.
Permission to bring a dog into the hut is separate from access to the beach. Ask the hut provider before booking.
Plan a dog-friendly dayCheck the latest forecast and tide times shortly before you travel. A forecast available today may not cover your planned visit.
See current beach conditionsFollow local lifeguard advice and beach safety signs. Tide predictions do not tell you whether it is safe to swim.
Leave time for a walk, a picnic or something nearby. Check opening hours, access and any separate booking requirements.
