A more low-key Sussex seafront, with room to breathe
Bexhill suits people who want a proper seaside setting without the full resort churn. The beach is long and gently sloping, the promenade has enough space for an easy walk, and the De La Warr Pavilion gives the seafront a bit of architectural backbone. It feels settled. Grown-up, but not stuffy.
The beach huts fit that mood. You see them in clusters rather than one theatrical row, especially around East Parade, West Parade and Glyne Gap. And because the town is less frantic than Brighton or Eastbourne, a hut day here can feel usefully simple: sea air, a walk, lunch, then another hour outside because there's no real reason to rush off.

Bexhill keeps things practical. There is promenade parking, public toilets including West Parade, and a wide seafront that suits walking as much as sitting still. It is less about stacked attractions and more about having the basics in the right places.
Dogs on the beach
Bexhill is mixed in summer rather than fully open. From 1 May to 30 September, dogs are banned on the beach between Brockley Road and Sea Road. On the promenade between groynes 34 and 78, including the lawns, dogs must be on a lead. Outside that restricted stretch, there is still usable seafront, so the town works for dog owners if you choose your section carefully.
