Beach hut hire in Hastings

Hastings is more spread out than people sometimes expect. The hut and chalet sites run across the wider Hastings and St Leonards seafront, which means you are not dealing with one neat little beach-hut strip. It is a longer, more urban coast, but that also gives it range.

A beach hut town with grit, character and more range than it first lets on

Hastings has a tougher-edged seafront than Eastbourne or Bexhill, and that is part of the appeal. Fishing quarter in one direction, St Leonards in the other, long stretches of promenade in between, and beach huts and chalets that feel woven into the coast rather than staged for effect. It is a working seafront as much as a visitor one.

The best short-stay option is the Victoria chalets on the Lower Promenade at Marina in St Leonards. They are seasonal, weekly and very much a practical base by the sea. Beyond that, the long-term hut sites at White Rock, West Marina, West of Haven, Bulverhythe and Glyne Gap show that Hastings has a deeper hut culture than people often realise.

Where to look for beach huts and chalets in Hastings

The long-term hut sites are spread across White Rock, West Marina, West of Haven, Bulverhythe East and West, and Glyne Gap East and West. For short-stay visitors, the key name is Victoria chalets on the Lower Promenade at Marina in St Leonards.

Weekly seasonal chalets for visitors, with long-term huts elsewhere

Hastings gives you a split market. The Victoria chalets are available for seasonal weekly hire from the end of May to September. Most other hut sites are long-term arrangements, with waiting lists or licence-based ownership rather than easy casual booking.

Day hire

Turn up, collect a key, and have a base for the day. Available as walk-ins at selected Hastings beaches from late March to September, or book in advance for a minimum of two days at other locations. Prices typically start from around the cost of lunch out.

Weekly hire

Book a hut for a full week and use it every day of your holiday or half-term break. Weekly hire is available at most Hastings beaches and is the most popular option during summer. Keys are collected at the start and returned on the final Friday by 5pm.

Seasonal hire

Have a hut for the entire season: spring, summer, autumn or winter. This is how regular visitors and locals use beach huts the most. You get your own key, your own spot, and can drop in whenever you like. Some owners also offer block bookings of several weeks at a reduced rate.
