Seaford works best if you think in two layers. West View is the seasonal visitor-hire side of the market, running across the summer period. Martello huts are let on three-year leases and are resident focused, while Bönningstedt sits more in the established beach-hut ownership end of the picture.

A broad, unshowy seafront where the view does most of the work
Seaford is one of those places that wins people over quietly. It does not have the same resort profile as Brighton or Eastbourne, but the setting is strong: a wide sweep of bay, the Downs nearby, and a seafront that feels spacious rather than overworked. On a clear day, just sitting facing the water is half the point.
The huts play into that nicely. West View gives you the more casual summer-hire version, while Martello and Bönningstedt have a more established, longer-term feel. The Bönningstedt huts in particular have those uninterrupted views across the bay that make a beach hut seem like a very sensible idea very quickly.

Seaford has the essentials without piling on too much clutter. Public toilets are available at Buckle Car Park and the Martello area, refreshments are available around the Salts Recreation Ground, Martello Tower and West View, and the promenade makes the whole frontage easy to use on foot.
Dogs on the beach
Seaford is partly dog friendly in summer. From 1 May to 30 September, there are banned sections of beach and lead-only sections of promenade. The current guidance highlights restrictions from Frankie's Beach Café west to the start of Bönningstedt Promenade, with the beach ban shown from West View up to around the Edinburgh Road area. So there are usable areas in high season, but you do need to pay attention to the signed zones.
