Cromer looks the part straight away. The pier gives it shape, the cliffs lift the town above the beach, and when the tide is out there is a broad sweep of sand that makes the place feel much bigger than it first appears. It still feels like a real seaside town rather than a place trying too hard to be one.
The chalet and hut setup suits that perfectly. Cromer has both east and west promenade locations, with council chalets and huts woven into the seafront rather than pushed off to one side. Add the gardens, the easy links up into town, and the fact that the beach is Blue Flag rated, and it becomes one of the stronger hut-and-chalet spots in Norfolk without needing to make a fuss about it.
Cromer's hut and chalet stock is split between the east and west promenade. That matters because the two sides have a slightly different feel.
